Sunderland are interested in signing Jack Grealish from Manchester City and they believe a deal can be completed before the deadline at the end of the week. The Black Cats are keen on securing a loan deal for the Englishman followed by an option to buy permanently next summer.
With Sunderland participating in the UEFA Europa League this season, they are hopeful on bringing in multiple experienced reinforcements to help cope with the additional games and pressure. They have identified Marseille’s Igor Paixao as a target for the wing and he is someone that they want as well as Grealish.
Grealish has had a rollercoaster journey with Manchester City since signing from Aston Villa in 2021. He won three Premier League titles and an incredible treble in the 2023/2024 where he played a crucial role in Pep Guardiola’s side achieving that. Injuries and inconsistency in form has hugely hindered the 30-year-old. He spent the whole of last season on loan with Everton where he enjoyed some fantastic performances but again was hit with a long-term injury.
Now back and fully fit, Grealish is desperate for game time and to get his career back on track. This opportunity with Sunderland could be just what the Englishman needs to find his best form again.
