Aston Villa Set to Sign Zion Suzuki After PSG Talks Collapse

Uncategorized

Aston Villa closing in on Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki in a deal worth around £30 million. Paris Saint Germain had a verbal agreement for the goalkeeper but move collapsed after personal terms were not agreed.

With Emiliano Martinez set to leave Aston Villa after six years at the club, the UEFA Europa League winners have identified Japanese goalkeeper Suzuki from the Italian league as an adequate replacement.

PSG had a deal agreed with the Italian side for Suzuki but issues within the goalkeeper’s camp have prevented a deal from completion. Villa has worked hard on swooping in and taking Suzuki for themselves and a deal is highly likely.

A long-term deal has been placed in front of the 23-year-old by Villa which is being considered. The expectation is that the Japanese international will sign for Unai Emery’s side with Martinez going elsewhere, most likely Serie A.

Suzuki enjoyed a successful World Cup campaign with Japan which saw him catch the eyes of multiple top European clubs. A move away from Italy was accepted within the club after Japan’s exit and it looks like Aston Villa will be that destination.
